"My husband and I met found The Plough on the website whilst searching for dog friendly pubs. We had a lovely lunch there whilst the owner made a huge fuss of our 2 little terriors ! Great food, great location and lovely people. Would defo recommend it." (9 Sept2011,  Sue Spears, Cambridge)

"Saturday 16th July myself and friends visited The Plough and i can honestly say we had a fantastic greeting by the landlord he shook our hands and welcomed us we were given menus while we sat at the bar having a drinks and he recommended the Angus steak which i chose it melted in my mouth so compliments to the chef, the waitress always had a smile which is rare these days to see job satisfaction for a change.   I will definitely visit there again." "After our visit to Bury St. Edmunds Christmas Market we decided a quiet lunch was in order and set off.  We chanced on The Plough - what a find!  A warm welcome and excellent service.  The roast was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables - unfussy and just the right portions.  We were even tempted by puddings - bread and butter pudding to rival my Mum's!  Great value for money and lovely environment - it was a joy to eat an unpretentious meal in a welcoming setting.  Since my youngest has been a vegetarian for some seven years, I was also thrilled to see that she would be catered for - and we intend to return.  Thank you Helen and Tony for a lovely meal "  (28 November 2010)

"An excellent pub for a birthday celebration. The host and hostess were charming and the menu was varied and exciting. The interior and exterior of the building have both been enhanced by the new landlords to ensure a comfortable , attractive eating place with a welcoming garden.
The liquid refreshment was well received by the whole family and a promise mad to retun in the near future."

"Stumbled upon this by accident last Sunday. Quite possibly one of the finest roast dinners I have ever had in my life. Excellent quality of beef (Sirloin), good selection of veg, fantastic golden crunchy roast potatoes and very, very good gravy. Puddings were of a good standard if basic but with homemade custard you can forgive this. According to the waitress, her and her partner have recently taken over the establishment and are really trying to get everything right, everything homemade and of decent quality. I wish them luck and hope to return"  (1 Mar 2010 13:25)

I was delighted to find that the Plough has improved dramatically from a year ago. It has been taken over by a great couple who know what they are doing! They have only been there for about 5 months and have a hard job to encourage people to return after it was run into the ground. Such a warm welcome, roaring fire and a great atmosphere. We only popped in for a light meal but were enticed by the great selection of home cooked dishes which were superb and all I can say is that we will be back and will spread the word that there is finally a pub that sells excellent food at a good price. No chips and fried food thank goodness! Good luck to you both and we shall return!         (7 Feb 2010 22:05)
